Rotherham and Newcastle United played out a 1-1 draw during pre-season ahead of the new campaign.

The Magpies had to come from behind to earn parity against the League One side.

Rotherham had taken the lead through Michael Smith, but Jeff Hendrick came off the bench to equalise for Steve Bruce's team.

It took Newcastle until the 84th minute to find the net, which may concern Bruce as the new Premier League season draws closer.

Newcastle avoided relegation last term, and their fans will not want the team to spend another season fighting for their lives.
