Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer met with Henderson at Carrington this week.
The Sheffield Star claims it was at the meeting where Henderson professed his desire to stay at Bramall Lane for one more season.
Blades boss Chris Wilder is hopeful United will let Henderson leave.
