Henderson reveals Liverpool message at half-time of Man Utd victory

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson says the players told each other to keep pushing for more goals against Manchester United at half time.

The Reds went into the interval 4-0 up over their fierce rivals in the Premier League on Sunday at Old Trafford.

Rather than letting up the intensity, Liverpool added a fifth through Mohamed Salah to put the result beyond any doubt.

"Yeah it's an amazing day," said Henderson to beIN SPORTS.

"I've played at Old Trafford many a time and it's a tough place to come, so we can't really play down the performance if you like.

"But at the same time it's only three points which we came for. It's another game that we've won. In terms of the title race it's far too early to be speaking about that, we've got to be concentrating on each game.

"There's plenty of football to be played. But of course it's a big day. We'll enjoy tonight, but the focus has got to turn to the next game straight away."

Of their half-time message to each other, Henderson added: "Keep going.

"Keep going. We knew they would start fast second half, you could see they could turn games around like they did in midweek.

"So even one goal can change the atmosphere. We know how quickly football can change so it was about staying on the front foot and try and keep going for the next goal and keeping the ball for long periods, which I thought we did very well

"So overall the performance from start to finish was very pleasing."
