Henderson demands fair crack at challenging De Gea as Man Utd No1

Dean Henderson is demanding the chance to be No1 at Manchester United.

The Daily Mail says United's preference was for Henderson to spend a further season on loan having been successful for the last two years at Sheffield United, before returning in 12 months time to replace David de Gea.

They are willing to offer a new contract which would increase his £60,000-a-week wages to assure Henderson that he is part of their long-term plans.

Even so, the ambitious 23-year-old feels that he proved himself in the Premier League last season and that he should be given a run under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, leading to a potential stand-off between both parties ahead of the new season.

Sheffield United, meanwhile, have had an improved £18.5million bid accepted for Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
