Henderson 'buzzing' after being told of Man Utd debut selection

Dean Henderson is set to make his Manchester United debut in tomorrow night's Carabao Cup tie with Luton Town.

The Manchester Evening News says Henderson, 23, has been informed he is down to start in United's first cup tie of the new season at Kenilworth Road. Henderson and his family are said to be 'buzzing' about his first appearance for United.

Henderson joined the United academy from Carlisle at the age of 14 in 2011 and was named in a first-team matchday squad for the first time by Louis van Gaal in the FA Cup fifth round win at Shrewsbury in 2016.

Jose Mourinho also named Henderson on the bench at the same stage of the competition in the following year's win at Blackburn Rovers but the England international has spent the last three seasons on loan at Shrewsbury and Sheffield United.

Henderson signed a five-year contract with United last month.
