Heerenveen management are convinced by the potential of Martin Odegaard.
The Norway international has spent the past 18 months on-loan at Heerenveen from Real Madrid, where he has battled for form in the Eredivisie.
Odegaard's season appears over after suffering a broken metatarsal on Sunday, but De Telegraaf says Heerenveen chiefs want to keep hold of the midfielder.
A meeting between the two clubs is scheduled for Friday where Odegaard's situation will be discussed.
And it's suggested Heerenveen will request another 12 month loan from Real for the midfielder.
