Heaton convinced of Burnley survival chances

Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton is convinced they can stay up in the Premier League this season.

Heaton thinks the fight to avoid the drop could go right to the end of the season.

"That looks a fair assessment at this stage, it looks very tight," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "There are a lot of teams in the mix who are not too far away.

"That's great for us. We're happy to be in it and looking forward to competing against everyone.

"We never felt that we wouldn't be in it. We've got belief and confidence in the squad and what we can achieve.

"I think we've grown into the season. I don't think we were ever too far away from where we wanted to be.

"It took a while to get our first win with the 10 games at the start, but the manager keeps talking about growth and you can see that.

"We're looking forward to making it tough for everyone we come up against."
