Hearts star Driver fancies representing Scotland

English born Hearts star Andrew Driver revealed he would welcome the opportunity to play for Scotland. "I've always said I'd like to play for Scotland. I want to play international football and the best chance for me, no disrespect, is Scotland," he told Hearts official web site.

"I have played for Scotland Schoolboys and really enjoyed it but do Scotland actually want people like me to play for them? Even some of my friends, while being positive, are still a bit sceptical about it.

"What would the nation think? Would they be for it, or against it? If I got the call, 100 per cent I would do it and I'd give 100 per cent. There would be a lot to think about if the chance ever came along. I'd have to speak to people about it and it would depend if it was the best idea, not for me as I would definitely do it, but as a whole."

Andrew added: "England U21s have a very good team and it's flattering Stuart Pearce came up to look at me but he obviously doesn't think I'm good enough.

"I have been here since I was 11. All my friends are Scottish, my girlfriend is Scottish, I've played for Scotland Schoolboys. My adulthood has been spent here and Scotland has shaped me as a person so it's something I'd obviously want to do.

"Who's to say I'd get the call anyway? It's flattering to hear people talking about this sort of thing as it's something you dream of. When I started my career, if I knew I'd be talked about like this, I'd be a very happy person."
