Hearts get better of Hibs in Edinburgh derby

Heart of Midlothian have beaten Hibernian 3-1 in the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road today.

The visitors had a great chance to take the lead in the 43rd minute when Ian Black's penalty was kept out by Graham Stack but they eventually did get themselves in front when Australian youngster Ryan McGowan headed home Andy Webster's initial header from right on the goal-line.

Less than two minutes later, Hibs got back on level terms courtesy of a Marius Zaliukas own goal but Hearts poured on the pressure late to score twice, making it six wins in the past seven meetings between the clubs.

The 83rd minute saw Webster fire home before Rudi Skacel wrapped it up with a neat finish in injury time to send Paulo Sergio's men fourth on the table as Pat Fenlon's Hibs remain second bottom without a win in 10 matches.
