Hearts manager Craig Levein is eager to keep hold of Burnley defender Jimmy Dunne.
Sean Dyche allowed the 21-year-old to head north in the summer after extending his contract until 2020. Dunne is on-loan to January.
"I've already spoken to Jimmy about extending the loan and I just need to get in touch with Burnley," said Levein.
"Jimmy, for a young guy, has brought a lot of calmness to the team along with his obvious attributes. He is a good passer of the ball, strong in the air and has decent pace. He is a calm boy, low maintenance and is not difficult to deal with at all."
