Ian Black has become the latest big-name casualty of Hearts' cost-cutting after being told his contract won't be renewed, reports the Scottish Sun. The 27 year old midfielder, who will be a target for a number of SPL clubs when he becomes a free agent, admits it will be a massive wrench to leave after three years with his boyhood heroes.
He said:
"There are some massive games for me to focus on between now and the end of the season and that is my priority.
"I will be giving 100 per cent over the next few weeks to try to ensure we finish this campaign as successfully as we possibly can."
Black signed from Caley Thistle in 2009 and he added: "It was a dream to sign for the club I've supported since childhood. I've enjoyed my time and believe I've been good for the club." "I understand the club's position and while it is unfortunate they will not be extending my contract, I hope I can go on and further my career.
Black will now follow Marian Kello and David Obua out the exit door at Tynecastle.
