He's back! FIFA intervene to suspend Trippier ban at Atletico Madrid

FIFA have suspended the 10-week world-wide ban of Atletico Madrid fullback Kieran Trippier.

Last week, the FA found the England defender guilty of four of seven alleged breaches of its betting regulations, all of which occurred in July 2019, around the time of his move from Tottenham to Madrid.

FIFA then confirmed that the ban was effective worldwide and therefore the 30-year-old looked set to miss a crucial period of the season for Diego Simeone's side in LaLiga and the Champions League.

FIFA have now intervened once more in a more positive light this time for Trippier, putting the ban on hold pending further information being provided by the FA to the Spanish capital side.

Trippier is expected to make his return to the squad - having also missed the victory against Getafe in midweek due to the ban - for the Copa del Rey tie away at Segunda B side Cornella on Wednesday.
