Hasenhuttl happy to play Southampton kids

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is happy to play the club's kids.

With injuries and suspensions to the likes of Ryan Bertrand, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Danny Ings, he is also not afraid to field academy products.

Callum Slattery and Marcus Barnes played in the 2-2 draw FA Cup third round draw at Derby, while Alfie Jones and Josh Sims have been recalled from loan spells at St Mirren and Reading, respectively.

"It is interesting. Every time I come to lunch a new one is standing in front of me and it is, 'Hello, nice to meet you', and I haven't seen them before.

"Simsy has trained three times with us and he has some qualities that can be interesting for us, so let's have a look."
