Hasenhuttl delighted with 'unbelievable' Southampton season

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl admitted to his delight with the club's season.

The Saints finished the season in strong form, netting a victory over Sheffield United on the final day of the season.

It was a result that gave them 11th place and 52 points.

While they could not break into the top half, it is still an achievement considering they were relegation candidates at one stage of the campaign.

Reflecting on the season, Hasenhuttl said: "It's amazing, especially after lockdown. What we did was unbelievable.

"The way we play in the moment means it's not a coincidence we are winning games.

"We are very strong and if we keep working like this and come back fitter after the break you and you can see the team is learning quick.

"Wins give you self-confidence, but we must also play like this when we have pressure.

"The players are really enjoying it."
