Harvey Elliott is facing delays ahead of signing a new contract with Liverpool.
The Liverpool Echo says by reaching 17 years of age on Saturday, Elliott will be able to sign a first professional contract at the Reds.
Three years is the maximum length of deal a player can agree at that age, and would allow the teenager to continue developing.
That, for coronavirus reasons, will have to wait a little longer before being physically penned.
However, a new agreement is the very definition of a no-brainer given the impact Elliott has made since being snapped up from Fulham back in the summer for a fee yet to be determined by a tribunal.
Whatever the cost, it's likely to be a snip if the teenager continues his rate of progress.
