Newcastle United youngsters Dennis Knight and Michael Riley are being offered terms by Hartlepool United.

The duo have been training with Pools since their recent release from St James' Park.

"We'll try to do something with Dennis and Michael looking to the end of the season," Pools boss John Hughes told the Northern Echo.

"There's two months to go, so let's see if they can grab it by the horns a take a chance. We'll get to know their character and see what they can do.

"Both have done well in the past couple of weeks and they could maybe help us."
