Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart says they were simply not good enough for their 2-2 draw at Champions League opponents CSKA Moscow.
Hart bluntly put their failure to hold onto a two-goal lead down to the fact that City simply did not play well enough.
The England number one said: "It was a difficult game - we played well in the first half but in the second half were too open, but it was a fair result.
"It was really cold in the first half, when having the wind in your face made a big change, but the second half was fine.
"They are not excuses, it was the same for both teams - unfortunately we didn't play well enough.
"It was a strange atmosphere because we are used to playing in front of crowds of emotional people but at the end of the day we were here to do a job regardless of who was here to watch us, and we didn't do it."
