Hart grateful to Redknapp for bringing him to Portsmouth

Portsmouth boss Paul Hart has recalled how Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp recruited him to Fratton Park.

Hart had been out of work for more than three months, after being axed as manager of Rushden and Diamonds, and will never forget Harry's offer. He recalled: "I wrote to every Premier League club asking 'Without taking anyone's job, if ever a vacancy became available could you consider me?'

"Harry was first on the phone. I had two other fantastic offers but turned them down as Harry had shown such faith in me.

"As a manager, Harry is very much a friend. I've a high regard for him and we still speak regularly."
