Jon Harley has returned to Notts County after a trial at Australian club Melbourne Victory. The transfer listed defender, who will turn 32 later this month, has been trying to earn a contract at the A-League side but it seems a potential move down under is off.

Magpies manager Martin Allen said: "Jon did very well but the move is not quite right for him so nothing has been agreed at the moment."
