Hamburg move ahead of Newcastle for Lasogga

Newcastle United face being trumped by Hamburg for Hertha Berlin striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

Newcastle have made an offer to Lasogga.

But the Evening Chronicle says Hamburg are confident that they can offer Lasogga the wages he wants which equates to €3million a year over four seasons.

They will offer €6million plus Norwegian player Per Skjelbred in exchange to Hertha.

The Magpies were prepared to offer £8million for the Bundesliga goal-getter but personal terms have proved the stumbling block for managing director Lee Charnley.
