Hamburg SV are cutting short the loan of Manchester City midfielder Tommy Doyle.

After a bright start, Doyle has struggled to make an impression with the German Second Division outfit.

Doyle has only managed six short appearances for HSV.

And Kicker says the midfielder isn't expected to return to Hamburg from England during the German winter recess.

Instead, HSV and City are close to agreeing an early end to his 12 month loan.
