Aston Villa are ready to pounce for Hamburg defender Guy Demel.
The Daily Mail says Villa have been sounded out about Hamburg right-back Demel, 30, a former Sunderland target.
Hamburg football chief Frank Arnesen announced yesterday they expected Demel to move to England this summer.
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce may revive his interest in Demel if he cannot talk down Manchester City over their asking price for Nedum Onuoha.
