Released Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack is aware of interest from Manchester United.

Bild says United face competition from Hamburg for the German veteran, 33, who was cut loose by Chelsea last week.

Ballack himself has refused to express a preference for Manchester United , Hamburg or any other club, revealing, "I have some offers… and will sort the requests in the coming week."

To compete with United, Hamburg have called for the help of billionaire supporter Klaus-Michael Kuehne, who currently lives in Switzerland, to fund the deal.
