Liverpool Champions League winner Didi Hamann has sung the praises of Fabinho.
Hamann feels Fabinho is key to the balance of Liverpool's midfield.
"I think he gives them balance and I always felt in recent years that was Liverpool's Achilles heel, the lack of a holding midfielder to give players the freedom to go forward and let the attackers do what they do best," he told the Liverpool Echo.
"Fabinho really has been tremendous since he came in, he was a huge part in the team winning the Champions League last season too.
"He is still finding his feet after his ankle injury (at the end of November) but he is an instrumental part of that team.
"If you have a top-class goalkeeper in Alisson, Virgil van Dijk at the back and the exceptional full-backs (Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson) who like to get forward, you need a holding midfielder and it helps you to have three or four players behind the ball and gives the others the freedom to go and attack and do what they do."
