Former Liverpool star Didi Hamann rates the arrival of Joe Cole as the club's best signing in ten years.
Cole signed for Liverpool last month on a Bosman from Chelsea.
Hamann said: "If you had asked me two weeks ago I would have said doom and gloom but the arrival of Joe Cole has made a hell of a difference.
"For a London boy to go up north, which hasn't really happened in the last few years, and to turn down Spurs, Arsenal, maybe Real Madrid to go to Liverpool sends a massive statement out to the rest of the league."
Hamann, 36, back in England as player-coach with MK Dons, added: "It's probably the best bit of news for the club in the last 10 years."
