Labinot Haliti has returned to the Newcastle Jets as an injury replacement player.

The 23-year old, who was an member of the Jets' inaugural A-League squad in 2005/06, has been most recently playing in Poland with Lodzi KS and was offered a contract to remain there but decided to return to Australia.

His manager, Peter Kokotis said: "Seeing the improved standard of the A-League with the introduction of internationals such as Jason Culina and Mile Sterjovski, Labinot was keen to play once again in the A-League and in particular under Branko Culina."

Haliti will come in as a replacement for the injured Marko Jesic.
