Halford hoping for Wolves chance

Wolves defender Greg Halford wants the chance to establish himself at Molineux.

Halford has just come off a successful loan at Portsmouth.

"The manager, Steve Cotterill, has expressed his desire to sign me permanently and now that the takeover has gone through I have no doubt that Wolves will be getting a call from them," Halford told skysports.com.

"I'll cross that bridge when I come to it, but I still haven't been given a real chance at Wolves and I'm eager to play regularly in the Premier League.

"Having worked so hard in pre-season to make the 25-man squad last season I felt that I should have been given more of a chance once the season started.

"Hopefully, I can kick on during this pre-season and show the gaffer what I can bring to the table and add to the team."
