Former Dutch star Jan Peters is happy Hakim Ziyech has stayed with Ajax this season.

The midfielder is being tracked by big European rivals.

But Peters told De Telegraaf: “He is a supporting force here and why would he be better by definition abroad?

"Moreover, I dare to doubt whether clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid are better than Ajax at the moment.

"This squad can simply be at the top of Europe."
