RB Salzburg striker Erling Haaland is being urged to stay where he is.

The Norway international is a target for Manchester United and Juventus ahead of the January market. He has also been linked with Bayern Munich.

However, Alf Ingve Berntsen, who coached Haaland as a junior with Byrne, told Goal: "The tactical requirements in Bayern and Liverpool would be a little too high right now - after all he has only played in Norway and Austria so far. And also a short time. Going to Bavaria would be difficult for him right now. Of course, he is still far from Robert Lewandowski's level.

"Erling is a present character, the back seat would not be easy for him. So while Lewandowski is playing at this level, a move to Bavaria would not make sense. What many people forget is: Haaland was not even a starting player in Salzburg a while ago. He did not play regularly until August this year.

"Of course he seems a shark with his goals, but it would probably be best to stay in Salzburg for another year. The most important thing for Erling is to play regularly at the highest possible level. It would be bad for him not to play in his new club."
