RB Salzburg striker Erling Haaland concedes he struggled to get change out of Virgil van Dijk after their Champions League defeat to Liverpool.

Haaland drew a blank as the Reds won 2-0 to advance to the round of 16 along with group opponents Napoli.

"It's heavy. The best team is good in both rounds. It wasn't us," Haaland told VG.

"They are a better team. They have the world's best defender standing next to me here. That's the difference.

"You can imagine. It is very heavy (this defeat)."
