Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has again declared his admiration for Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.

The pair clashed home and away in the Champions League group phase earlier this season while Haaland was with RB Salzburg.

Haaland told France Football: "He is really that good.

"He is powerful, fast and has all the essential qualities. He is truly an incredible player."

Haaland was also keen to downplay claims he views Dortmund as a stepping stone to bigger things: "I just got here.

"I am very happy here and I really want to leave something behind. I am only busy with that. I get goosebumps from this stadium and therefore I feel at home here."
