Real Madrid great Guti is backing their move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Pogba is eager to see the deal happen, though negotiations have proven difficult due to United's asking price. However, Real are maintaining their pursuit - a decision Guti supports.
The former Real midfielder, who won three Champions League titles with the club, is a big fan of France international Pogba. Though he also concedes Pogba wouldn't arrive to transform the team.
Speaking with Telemadrid via Don Diario, Guti says: "He is a very complete player.
"It is true that he is not as brilliant as others like (Luka) Modric or (Eden) Hazard, but Real needs these type of players to balance the team, both defensively and offensively."
For his part, Guti is currently a free agent after leaving his job with Besiktas as assistant coach at the end of last season.
The Spaniard also commented on Eden Hazard's preseason with Real. The Belgian has had quiet first month since his arrival from Chelsea, though did feature in Real's last friendly, a 5-3 victory over Fenerbahce in Germany.
Guti has confidence in the midfielder, though says Real need to buy players to support him.
Guti added, "Hazard is without a spark, he lacks the rhythm he has when he faces and leaves the opponents, but I think he will not have many problems because he will perform well at Real Madrid as he did at Chelsea. The important thing is that Real Madrid signs a couple of players with the weight that he has."
