Guingamp president Gourvennec: Newcastle's Marveaux simply too good for us

Guingamp president Jocelyn Gourvennec has ruled out signing permanently Newcastle United winger Sylvain Marveaux.

The Frenchman is playing on a season-long loan with Guingamp and making a big impact in Ligue 1.

"We know that Marveaux is a player of a different class compared to Guingamp and his future is not here," conceded Gourvennec.

"He is a creative player, which greatly influences our game and his level is higher than ours."

Guingamp currently sit bottom of the Ligue 1 table.
