Gudjohnsen settles in quickly on Bolton return

Championship Bolton signing Eidur Gudjohnsen says being back 14 years after he left the club feels like coming "home". The 36-year-old Iceland forward has agreed a contract until the end of the season following a trial.

"The opportunity came up and I couldn't find one negative reason not to, so it was a very simple decision really," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"It feels like home straight away again, which is a good thing.

"It's just a great feeling. Not only at the club, but the people here in Bolton are so friendly and we have such great memories, me and my family, from being here."

Gudjohnsen has rejoined Bolton with the club 17th in the Championship.

"It's a little bit like going back in time, but it's still got the friendly atmosphere as I remember it," he added.

"It's still got the great people around and it basically just confirms the memory that I had. I'm very excited and it's a very happy time."
