Man City cruise into quarter-finals with comfortable win over Gladbach

Manchester City are into the Champions League quarter-finals after a 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Sky Blues secured a 4-0 aggregate win, having also won the first-leg 2-0.

Kevin De Bruyne scored a brilliant left-footed strike to open the scoring with 12 minutes on the clock.

Ilkay Gündoğan doubled the advantage six minutes later, slotting past Yann Sommer after a fine pass from Phil Foden.

Pep Guardiola's side have now scored 101 goals across all competitions this season.

Both legs were played at the Puskas Arena in Budapest because of coronavirus restrictions.

The draw for the quarter-finals will take place in Nyon on Friday at 11am.

"It was a good performance, we controlled the game from the beginning," Guardiola said.

"This competition is tricky but after the two goals everything was easier - everyone in their position moved the ball quick."
