Pep Guardiola reportedly wants Pablo Zabaleta to remain at Manchester City this summer.
Recent reports had suggested that the Spaniard was set to allow the experienced Argentine defender to leave the Etihad Stadium provided he signed an apt replacement.
However, Spanish publication Sport suggests that Guardiola is keen for the right-back to stay for at least another 12 months.
Zabaleta, 31, has been heavily linked with a summer transfer to Roma, while fellow Italians Inter Milan have also been showing interest, but these reports indicate that perhaps he will be extending his eight-year stay in Manchester.
