Guardiola happy with Man City win: And to get closer to Liverpool

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was delighted with their 3-0 win against Wolves on Monday night.

City eased past 10-man Wolves to cut Liverpool's lead at the top of the table to four points.

Gabriel Jesus scored twice, with Conor Coady turning the ball into his own net. Wolves defender Willy Boly was sent off on just 19 minutes.

Guardiola said: "We have played a lot of time with ten against 11 and we should be more aggressive in our attacking play, but we have a lot of matches in our minds and our legs. We were solid and didn't give away many chances so it is three points to keep the pressure on the team at the top of the table.

"Most teams come here and defend deep and it is not easy, but we did it well and we got a third to take us closer to Liverpool.

"They defend deep with 10 men so it is not easy even with one more player. We have to be more aggressive to put the ball in the box. Kevin [de Bruyne] came on and crossed the ball 10 times. That is the way we have to play [in that situation]. If it is pass, pass, pass it is more difficult.

On Gabriel Jesus' form, he added: "It is important for the striker [to score goals]. The first goal was an incredible pass from Laporte and movement from Leroy."
