Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola hailed the performance of David Silva for their 6-0 Champions League rout of Shakhtar Donetsk.
Silva scored the opener – his third consecutive goal in Europe - and was again instrumental in much of City's best work on a night which saw Gabriel Jesus register a first-ever hat-trick in senior football.
“I said yesterday: in that position, David is one of best players in world," said Guardiola.
“He scored one of most important goals for us away in Hoffenheim when the situation was so serious.
“Every game, he is there, fighting for us living closer to the box, creating more chances.
“It is so important for us to have him at that level."
