Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is fed up with the preening of his players.

The Sun says he held a team meeting just hours before their thrilling 2-1 Prem triumph over bitter title rivals Liverpool earlier this month in which he ordered his players to dump the hair gel, moisturiser and after shave.

He told them to concentrate soley on their on-the-pitch performance rather than appearance.

A City insider revealed: “Pep told the players: 'You're not spending time doing your hairstyling and all of this,' as he mimicked someone applying face moisturiser and added: 'Everything goes into the performance'."

Guardiola's concerns were sparked came after star striker Sergio Aguero revealed how he dyed his hair platinum blonde before City's 3-1 Manchester derby win over United to win a bet with his brother.
