Guardiola admits Man City battling to keep top kids

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits keeping hold of their best youngsters is a battle.

Jadon Sancho left Manchester City last summer to join Borussia Dortmund and Guardiola admits it is difficult to keep hold of prospects given the "market" for the best young talent across Europe.

"We try to care of them," the City boss said. “We try to give them the best education possible and the best facilities and a good environment and we try do everything.

“But in the end, both sides have to want it. Sometimes the club does want to continue with a player because they are not good enough to go through.

“We are clear with all the guys and after that the agents, the fathers, the mothers also influence that. But we don't have regrets as a club. Of course there are other teams in Europe who want big talents. We can accept that."
