Gronkjaer hails work of ex-Chelsea teammates Lampard, Morris

Former Chelsea winger Jesper Gronkjaer is full of praise for the work of manager Frank Lampard and his No2 Jody Morris.

Gronkjaer played with both players in the Blues midfield during his time in England.

He told Goal: “As young boys, they were already leaders. Lampard was a special case, he had already done well at West Ham United and adapted effortlessly within our team.

"With a new manager and young players, things looked good at Chelsea this season. They have done well, if you look at the expectations at the beginning of the season.

“They brought back boys like Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori that many supporters already knew by name. Maybe the some fans thought they weren't good enough yet, but they are now fighting for a Champions League spot."
