Greenberg leaving Chelsea

Simon Greenberg is leaving Chelsea.

The Daily Mail says Greenberg, the Chelsea communications and public affairs director, is following ally Peter Kenyon out of Stamford Bridge, having handed in his notice this week.

The ambitious Greenberg, who will stay at Chelsea until the end of the year, was always likely to leave when operations director Ron Gourlay was preferred as the new CEO in place of Kenyon and then couldn't give Greenberg the extra responsibility he wants.

A job in New York helping pal Paul Kemsley resurrect the New York Cosmos is a possibility.
