Avram Grant has backed the appointment of Sam Allardyce as his successor at West Ham United.

Former Chelsea boss Grant gave his backing to new Hammers boss Allardyce.

He said: "I think he is a very good manager, an experienced manager, and it is a good club for him.

"I'm sure he will use the opportunity and do his best for West Ham. He is a good choice."
