Avram Grant is in the frame to return to Portsmouth.
The Mirror says Grant remains in the frame to take over at Portsmouth if the Tony Adams experiment fails.
Fratton Park owner Sacha Gaydamak promoted No.2 Adams as the cheap option after Harry Redknapp left for Tottenham.
But Gaydamak is ready to turn back to ex-Chelsea boss Grant if results dip and the riches that come with staying in the Premier League are in jeopardy.
