Granit Xhaka confirms signing new Arsenal deal: I'm still here!

Granit Xhaka has confirmed he's signed a new contract with Arsenal.

Xhaka - who impressed with his country at Euro 2020 - was heavily linked with a move to Roma before signing a new, four-year contract until 2025 at the Emirates Stadium.

The 28-year-old was stripped of the captaincy nearly two years ago after an infamous incident against Crystal Palace where he told fans to "f*** off".

But he has worn the armband at the start of the first two games of the new season in the absence of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from the starting XI, and insists he will continue to "give everything" for the club.

"I'm very happy, I'm still here," he said. "I've signed a new contract of course and I want to give back, first of all to our staff, and then after to our fans.

"They know I will give everything - in every game and every training session. So yeah, I think we have to show that as a team soon."
