Gordon: Sunderland players desperate to do well for Bruce

Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon insists the players are desperate to deliver a win for manager Steve Bruce.

Gordon, at £9million Britain's most expensive shot-stopper, insists Bruce has the full backing of the dressing room despite a horrendous run that has seen the Black Cats take just six points point out of the last 39.

As Sunderland prepare to take on Europa Cup surprise outfit Fulham today, Gordon revealed: "The boys are still 100 per cent behind the manager. He's been great all season. There is absolutely no problem there.

"The manager has done a good job in a short space of time. He has been unfortunate with a number of things that have happened in the middle of the season.

"He will get this right. I'm sure that between now and the end of the season the results will pick up and we can move forward and improve on it next year."
