QPR captain Joey Barton has defended Youssouf Mulumbu over his red card yesterday.

Barton says West Bromwich Albion midfielder Mulumbu did not deserve to be sent off despite catching the QPR captain with an elbow.

"I just went to win the ball and I got hit late. I didn't feel I got done," said Barton, who scored as relegation-threatened QPR won 4-1 at Albion.

"I don't think Youssouf is that kind of player, it wasn't that kind of game."
