Gonzalo Villar was delighted to make his full Roma debut for their 4-3 defeat of Cagliari.

Villar arrived in January from Elche.

“I'm very happy that Fonseca has faith in me. I worked hard to earn this opportunity. It was a great result," he told Roma TV. “We have been working together for a month, I tried to use all his guidelines and put them into play."

“I'm very happy with my debut and the match. The important thing is the win," he added. “I worked a lot on the pitch today.

“Cagliari are a good team; they have great players like [Luca] Pellegrini and [Radja] Nainggolan. It's a victory that boosts our morale."
