Gold Coast rubbish Griffiths' move to Saudi Arabia

Gold Coast United owner Clive Palmer has rubbished claims regarding Adam Griffiths leaving the club. Recent reports suggested that the defender was to become the first Australian player to play in the Saudi Arabian league after he was offered a record transfer fee by champions Al Shabab.

Sydney-based player agent Tony Rallis allegedly confirmed that Griffiths was making the move but Palmer has come forward saying the rumours are untrue.

"The article in today's Sydney Morning Herald about Adam Griffiths is inaccurate in many respects and contained no confirmation or comment from our club," Mr Palmer said.

"Mr Tony Rallis does not act on behalf of Adam Griffiths, nor does he represent Gold Coast United.

"We have not signed anything that constitutes the transfer of Adam Griffiths to any club."
