Diego Godin says Atletico Madrid players are convinced of coach Diego Simeone's commitment.

It broke last week that Simeone had reduced the length of his contract from 2020 to 2018.

"If Simeone is still here, it is because he wants to be," Godin said. "It's a personal matter and if he didn't want to tell us personally, that's his right since it doesn't change anything, for him or for us.

"We found out once it went to press."
